Static Stress Analysis

Static analysis is used to determine displacements, stresses, deformations and forces that occur in a structure or its components under loads not accompanied by energy dissipation or significant inertial effects. The constancy of loading and response of the system is assumed so, very slow changes in these parameters over time can be neglected. The loads include external forces and pressure, inertial and centrifugal forces, specified (non-zero) displacements, temperatures (to account for temperature deformations) and fluences (to calculate the swelling of the material).

Static analysis can be linear or nonlinear. All types of nonlinearities are allowed: large deformations, plasticity, creep, presence of gap elements, hyperelasticity, etc.
